Christopher Sherman is an artist who paints primarily in oils, pastels and watercolours. An enthusiast of archaeological, anthropological and paleontological subjects, he takes his inspiration from the French symbolist artists and the British Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. He is an active conservationist and, in part his work reflects this. He is also an active sculptor, mostly of animal subjects.
He has held one-man exhibitions in Mayfair and in Chelsea and has exhibited at a number of public and private group shows. He continues to study and work at the Heatherleys School of Fine Art, specialising in life and portrait work. Chris regularly exhibits at Heatherley’s and in 2009 and 2016 was awarded an Open Studio bursary.
